Syl'S HISTORY
|
|
Formed in December of 2006, Hollywood Assassyn originated from Singer/guitar player Jay and old time drummer Troy looking to start a new project. The idea was to find people who had already "paid their due" in the scene and would know how to make it to take this to the next level without suffering the "beginner's circuit.
Syl heard about the project from a friend and , finishing off a 4 year run of playing Steve Harris in an Iron Maiden tribute band, decided to let his creativity take over and join in.
The first rehearsal spawned the first collective work: "Perspective". This was a no-ego/ easy going/open-minded environment and the chemistry was undenyable!
The search then began for a second guitar player and after a few months of trial and error, Ian entered the picture.
Ian was a good match, bringing his "Tool-ish" influences over Jay's "Alice in Chain meets Godsmack" style. Then, having a drummer highly inflenced by Motley Crue and a bass player who worships the ground Dave Mustaine walks on, you get a pretty interesting writing style..!
