Life requires meaning. SLICE, the out-of-this-world MC/producer hailing from Chicago, IL, feels the need to inject meaning and intelligence into everything he touches. Each letter in his name has its own special meaning (SLICE = Sonic Lyrical Incisions Causing Elevations). He exists as Chicagos underground hip-hop one-man gang, writing producing, recording, and mixing all of his own material (his name when hes producing is the Celestial Sorcerer...completing his dual personality). This doesnt mean that he cant have fun with his music. He has been a part of many groups throughout the years, then decided to drop some solo material once current U.S. political states inspired him to reveal some truths about his country to the masses. His latest CD Imaginary Friend (© 2004) is deep rooted in a smoothed-out, cosmic, soulful, and jazzy vibe that made it a crowd-pleaser across differing musical tastes and generational boundaries. Highlights from the album include Sometimes (featuring Yella Girl) (a soulful introspective about our personal contradictions), Lettit Rayn (featuring Jonee) (a playful feel-good anthem about just loving life), Imaginary Friend (personifying Americas policies as those of an Imaginary Friend), and Diction (instructing listeners to internalize what SLICE is saying to them).

SLICE is currently putting the finishing touches on a new CD entitled In Psyche Low Media, Brown, where he shines a light upon the ways that certain forms of media try to influence the American Minority, and everybody else as well. Standout tracks include Utopia, Be Careful, I Am, Infinite Wisdom, and the title track.

Get ready, because you havent heard anything in this world like SLICE the Celestial Sorcerer.
